Winners were selected by a combined vote from Advisory Board Members and the general public. All nominees were voted upon by N.A.M.A.’s national Advisory membership and were selected among an impressive collection of over 200 national contemporary and traditional music recordings submitted for nomination consideration earlier this year. Winners of the Ninth Annual Native American Music Awards will be determined through N.A.M.A. membership print ballots and an online national voting campaign open to the general public through a listen and vote system posted on the Awards website.

The Native American Music Awards, Inc. is the country’s leading membership-based Native American music association composed of industry professionals, musicians, programmers, producers, engineers and other professionals dedicated to promoting and preserving Native American music throughout the United States and around the world. The Native American Music Awards and Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel extend their sincerest congratulations to all this year’s nominees.

GENERAL PUBLIC VOTING 

The Native American Music Awards Online Voting commenced August 7, 2007 following the announcement of all finalists in the Ninth Annual Native American Music Awards.  National voting was open to both Advisory Board members and the general public.

To vote on this website you must have been registered as an E-Team member. All Advisory Membership voting consisted of 100% of all votes in the Nomination selection process. A maximum of 35% of the total online votes was weighed against Advisory membership votes in the final voting stage when voters select one winner for each category. Voting deadline was October 6, 2007.

Music Tracks were posted on the website in the audio players in each appropriate category. We strongly urged everyone to listen to the music before casting their vote. 

In order to have participated in our public voting,  you must first have  registered as a E-member on our website. Then you must have selected one winner for each featured Awards category on the following pages. You may listen to select music tracks of each featured entry on the music player at the bottom of each voting page. You may also register as an Advisory member which requires your annual membership dues of $100.00 as a registered industry member.

Note: Native Heart, Lifetime Achievement, and Hall of Fame Awards will be reserved for the N.A.M.A. Advisory committee selections.
